On
Saturday, April 11th, members of the Riverside Rose Society will be conducting Rose Care Seminars at Lowe’s stores
in Riverside and Moreno Valley.
The stores’ nursery managers are delighted that American Rose Society Consulting Rosarians, as well as a number of member
rosarians - many of whom have been growing roses successfully for years - will be on hand to educate people about such
basics as preparing the soil, planting in the ground (bareroot or potted), container planting, watering, fertilizing, mulching,
cultivating and transplanting, in addition to answering rose-related questions.
These knowledgeable rosarians will also have printed material available for reference from the Society’s library, including books like
The American Rose Society Encyclopedia of Roses, ARS’s
Ultimate Rose,
The Rose Bible by Ray Reddell, and Teri Dunn and
Bruce & Sharon Asakawa’s
Jackson & Perkins Beautiful Roses Made Easy.
There will also be pamphlets and handouts for people to take home with them, as well as information about the society, its remarkable
51 year history, and applications for membership.
All RRS members are encouraged to join one of the two teams in a city near you, or at least stop by the tent for a few minutes to
show support for your fellow members.
